Scene: Debbie Reynolds Studios. Daytime; Saturday. Young male working at his desk (pssst… that would be me). Enter Lovely Lady.

This Lovely Lady initiates conversation with this young man; a clueless actor who is now trying to devote all of his love to acting. He doesn’t even realize he’s being asked on a date by a hot, Swedish dancer. However, she is persistent and patient, keeps knocking and the actor finally gets a clue.

The first date takes place that very evening at a suspicious bar that is, years later, seen on “America’s Most Wanted.”  Main reason for said establishment was karaoke night and I assume the low volume of patrons, which made it extremely easy to get a drink. Fast forward a whopping three months later and the Lovely Lady and actor marry.

Amy and Katarina (aka Lovely Lady) certainly got along, which was a relief.  I do recall that Sack may have known I was dating someone while he was working a cruise, but I know it was quite a surprise to announce that we were getting married.

As some dating and marriages go, ours has been rocky at times. I remember the first and most significant bump came while we were dating and Katarina was noticeably upset. It came down to what animal-tested products I had in “my” apartment. I would have loved to blame Sack or Amy at that moment (very noble), but I was completely caught off guard and completely ignorant of how I spent my money spoke volumes. This was such a monumental shift in my life and still guides it to this day.

The Lovely Lady and clueless actor are now going on 10 years of marriage this year. We continue to grow and find more things…probably things we would have found out by dating more, but some have come only by union and a need.

Thank you Katarina for your patience and understanding. Jag alskar dej. You have made me grow so much further than I could have imagined by myself ...and you still complete me.
